This morning was so exciting I was ready with the camera when Daddy brought Makenna in the room. She looked at all the new toys and said ohh. Makenna got to her new singing toy and wanted to stay there and not open anything else. We finally got her interest in the rest of her gifts. I think she loved her baby the most. She gave it lot's of kisses. Josh and Kayla was just as excited about there new items. Paw-Paw and Maw-Maw came to see us and asked if everyone got what they wanted and Josh and Kayla said that Mommy and Daddy didn't get anything. Daddy said what he got was a speeding ticket two days ago. Then Josh said and all that Momma wanted was Makenna to be here this year. He remembers me saying last Christmas that all I needed was for Makenna to be home where she belongs.

Our trip to McAdenville
On Wednesday we went to Christmas town to see the lights we go to see the lights every year. It was warm and we rolled the windows down and Makenna had the best time looking at all the lights. Santa Claus was giving out candy to all the cars. This was Makenna's first time seeing Santa she just looked at him a waved.

Things are busy around here
Life has been really busy Makenna had a double ear infection after Thanksgiving. Kayla's dance class performed the Nutcracker and she danced so perfectly. We have been decorating and baking cookies. Last weekend our church had their Christmas play. Let's just say it was amazing and Josh even made the same comment. We went to have our family pictures made for Christmas Makenna did not smile in any of them. This weekend starts the rush of going to all our families get togethers. We will be staying home for Christismas eve and day this year. Makenna is so funny when she see's Christmas decorations. I can't wait to see what she will do on Christmas morning.

Decorating for Christmas
We have decorated the outside of the house and put our tree up. Makenna just smiles when you turn the tree on. She is also a pro at taken the ornaments off. This will be Makenna's first Christmas since they don't celebrate in China. It is truly amazing watching her eyes lite up everytime she sees Christmas decorations. Our neighbors little girl gave Makenna her first power wheel Dora car. She would ride it all day if someone would just do the steering.

Happy Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving day was not what we had planned three of us were not feeling well. Makenna is cutting four teeth. After our pancake breakfast and morning naps we decided we needed to find some Turkey. Lunch was good not as good as eating at Maw-maw's. Makenna had her first ice cream cone. Then we went to the video store and rented a few Christmas dvds. Every year we always go to the movies to see the newest Christmas movie for the year. This year Makenna is a little too young for that. We finally came home and lounged on the couch and enjoyed each other. Our family is very blessed and we are thankful that God gave us this precious little girl.

November is national adoption month
This is one of my favorite poems hope you enjoy.
Every call has a beginning A quiet moment when God whispers a promise to a mother’s heart A holy place where a father bows and faithfully accepts the journey set before him. A miraculous morning that unexpectedly dawns…Casting its first light on a chosen threshold. A gentle knock..a closed door opens. A sacred invitation sent by the Father..Leads to the other side of the world. Where lonely hearts stare out orphanage windows Praying for someone to care.. And then one morning, On an ordinary day An orphan’s life changes...God sends them a second chance...Through you..

Two months together
It's hard to believe it has been three months since Makenna joined our family. Really it seems like she been here forever. She has brought so much joy and happiness to our lives. She continues to amaze us everyday with something. The pictures are from Gotcha day,one month and two months. We enjoyed taking her to a corn maze last weekend and she had lots of fun running thru the maze. Makenna and Kayla have become best friends she gets so upset when Kayla gets out of the car at school. She knocks on her bedroom door throughout the day. Our family is so blessed.

Makenna 16 months old
Makenna is now 16 months old and very busy. She learns more everyday. She amazes us with how fast she is learning english. When we sang Jesus loves me to her she keeps saying Jesus. She stayed in the nursery at church on Sunday for the first time. I was so nervous but she never even cryed. She was very happy to she us when we picked her up. Josh and Kayla want to be the ones to wake her up and get her out of her crib. Josh and Kayla love her so much. I will post pictures later.

The last few weeks have been very busy with doctor visits. Makenna is adjusting to her Family and we can't remember life without her. Kayla and Makenna have a love-hate relationship. Everyone has fallen in love with Makenna. I took Makenna and had photos taken she made the lady really work hard to get a few good shots. On Saturday we took her to the playground and she really enjoyed the slides. Here are a few of the pictures.

Makenna is keeping us very busy I forgot how busy a 15 month old can be. In the last week we have had two doctor visits. Makenna really does not like going to the doctor and having him touch her at all. She had blood drawn and this really made her mad the nurse felt so bad for her. It took me a two nurses to hold her down. The doctor said she looks very healthy and seems to be on target for her age. Makenna is now giving me kisses on the cheek this is the sweetest feeling. She also loves baby dolls and gives them hugs and kisses. She loves all her shoes and trys to put them on by herself. We are trying to stay home with her as much as possible due to she started feeling a little overwhelmed after we took her around family and friends last weekend. We hope to have her at church again in a few weeks.
