Home sweet home

We arrived home last night around 7:00 it was a long long flight. Makenna did very well on the plane and entertained everyone around us. It was so nice to see all of our family and friends at the airport. Makenna rode in her car seat for the first time she never even fussed she was asleep before we left the airport parking. She fell asleep around 11:00 and was wide awake at 2:00 for the rest of the night. Today she has enjoyed getting to know her brother and sister. Josh keeps saying it don't seem real. He loves her and is so gentle with her I know they will be very close. Kayla and Makenna are still adjusting to each other Kayla loves her so much but wants to hold her and Makenna does not want to be held. Thanks for all the prayers and support we feel so blessed to call this little girl our daughter.

On Thursday we went to the zoo it was so beautiful and there were lots of animals including the panda. Makenna seems to love animals and was very good and happy to ride in the stroller. After the zoo we went to the consulate to take our oath and pickup Makenna passport. Last night we went out to eat with our friends the Hoffman's it was there last night in China. Paula the name of the Italian resturant is La Dolce Vita it's very good and all of the adopting families eat there many times. Makenna has finally decided that a bath is fun she had so much fun we let her play for a little longer. Tonight is our last night in China and I can't wait to see Josh and Kayla and get a Dr.pepper there is none here in China. We will see you soon

Today we had to wait in the room until our guide called to let use know that all was good with the visas. Afterwards we went to the white swan play room for about thirty minutes. Tracy listened to Makenna again this morning and she sounded better. Makenna is now napping with Daddy. She is very stubborn and has a very bad temper when she does not get her way. Later we are going to do the traditional red couch photos that should be lots of fun. Tonight we are going to our favorite place to eat pizza again. I will post pictures later. Kayla and Josh take it easy on Maw-maw.

Toy market

We went to the toy market and McDonalds today. The toy market was four stories of toys.Makenna still has a cough and we had a doctor listen to her today and she is wheezing so pray that we don't have to take her to the doctor fo treatment. The doctor in our group said it's probably a viral infection since there has been no fever. She has been great today playing and shopping. She has a very bad temper and we just laugh because you can tell she is just doing things to see if we will give in. Josh I hope you have a great day at school. Kayla have fun with Maw-maw. Medical exam

Today was a free day and we have enjoyed the island. We went to the white swan play room and played with lots of other babies. Makenna is still attached to me and will only let Dana hold her if i'm not around. We walked alot and she enjoys riding in the stroller. It's very hot and humid due to a typhoon came thru yesterday. Tomorrow is her medical appointment and I have to do paperwork. We have really enjoyed this trip but we are very ready to come home. It's so much fun seeing her first experience with different things and foods. Josh and Kayla we love you.

Today was a free day and we stayed in our room alot due to the rain. Makenna was so excited to play in the play room and she still loves to play with all her toys we have for her. She still sleeps really good and takes a good nap. There are alot of other families here now and it's nice getting to know them. It's so nice to talk to the kids everyday and hear how excited they are to get to meet Makenna. We went to the Italian resturant again last night it was so good. Makenna will not let no one else hold her and pushes everyone away. They call her the spicy girl. We love it here on the island but really miss home.

Friday in China

What a difference a day makes Makena let us put her in the high chair for the first time. We went to the pearl market and she was happy to let her Daddy carry her. She is laughing more and more. She started to walk alot for me and when Dana comes around she drops to the floor it is so funny to see. She had french fries for the first time she loves them. We have had alot of fun with her today. Her personality is so sweet and she has the sweetest laugh. We are very ready to come home. We found a Italian resturant that we like to eat at the pizza is great. Josh and Kayla we love you and be good for Maw-Maw next week. Josh have a good first day of school.

We went on a city tour yesterday and got to see The chen clan academy and the six banyan pagoda it was beautiful how the places were built and all the designs. The babies did great and we had lots of people asking our guide about what we are doing in China. They always say lucky baby but we know that we are the lucky ones to have her in our lives. She has started giving kisses to me and now she can clap her hands. She let Dana carry her a little today. She still sleeps 12 hours at night and takes two naps. Today we are going to the pearl market. One of the pictures is of Bree and Makenna in the strollers. Bree is the other baby in our travel group she is 2 1/2. She is doing so good with her Mommy. Still not sure about her Daddy. Makenna still don't like to take a bath. Josh and Kayla we miss and love you.

Day 5 in China

Last night Makenna slept for 12 hours. She is a very good baby she like to sit and play with her toys. She takes a nap for around two hours. She still takes her bottle three times a day. She eats other foods also. She is letting Dana hold her a little more. We are getting ready to go get her passport and go to a shopping center. She is still very shy and you can see in the pictures she holdes her arm over her eyes when she is being shy. She is the sweetest baby she can walk a little but is very unsteady. We are so ready to come home and see everyone. The people here are so nice and friendly. I will post more later.

Official adoption day

Today we went to the adoption registry office and took our family photo, talked with the notary and signed the final adoption papers. Makenna Lin Yan Dancy is officially ours. It is very amazing watching this little girl become more comfortable with us or should I say with me. Everytime Dana gets close to her she starts to cry and push him away. She only wants to play with me and will only let me feed her. Pray that she will start letting Dana get close to her she is so sweet and he wants to hold her so bad. The other family with us there little girl is also clinging to the Mom. She is smiling and laughing and watches every move we make.

Today was so great we went to the adoption registry office to pick up the babies. There was about 30 other families there. We were first to receive our baby she is really shy and was not sure what was going on. They handed her to me and she began to cry and the she was screaming it broke our hearts to know that she is very scared and grieving. We got to talk to her nanny and could tell that she loved her very much. She is not as big as she looks she has 5 teeth and another one is coming in. When we got back to the room we changed her clothes and laid her on the bed and fed her some gerber puffs. I had to go do paperwork in our guides room and while I was gone she fell asleep. She is very shy with Dana and want let him hold her very much. Josh and Kayla I wish you were here with us. Love Mom and Dad

We finally have her
